Although Michelle Kennelly was born in Russia, she was raised in Ireland where her family relocated when she was just three years old. English has been like her first language as she attended school in Ireland initially, and she is very comfortable speaking in English. Michelle Kennelly started her social media journey at the age of 12 and first joined her self-titled YouTube channel on June 21, 2015. However, she began posting modeling and lifestyle photos through her Instagram profile @kennelly_m in September 2015. She began posting in Russian on her YouTube channel on February 3, 2016, with the video Что Мне Подарили На День Рождения?! The same month, she also branched into other platforms like musical.ly, which later became TikTok. She quickly became popular on the platform and gathered a massive fan following by sharing dance videos, lip syncs, comedy skits, and lifestyle and travel videos. She was initially active on TikTok with the username michellekennelly0, but is now active with the handle @kennelly_michelle. In the past, she was a part of the social media collective Clubhouse, created by Daisy Keech and Abby Rao, and often collaborated with other popular creators from the group.

She reportedly dated fellow TikTok star João Coronel starting in August 2021, but in a Q&A video from June 2023, she mentioned that she was not in a relationship and was not looking for one either.
