TFUE, whose real name is Turner Ellis Turney, is an American professional gamer, a Twitch streamer and a You Tube star best known for his Fortnite streams. His gaming skills have earned him a huge fan following; his fans consider him one of the best Fortnite players in the world. On YouTube, he first appeared on his brother Jack Tenny’s Channel, JOOGSQUAD PPJT, before launching his eponymous channel in 2014. He was a member of the esports organisation FaZe Clan from April 2018-May 2019.

Social Media Journey

TFUE started to play video games from the age of 12. The first game that he began playing competitively was ‘Halo’. He then began playing other games like ‘Call of Duty’ and ‘Destiny’; the latter  was his first professional game. He made good progress in the game and partnered with Twitch to stream the game. He created a world record playing ‘Destiny’. Other than the two games, he streamed H1Z1 (battle royale format) and participated in H1Z1 tournaments as well. He soon became a known player and when ‘Fortnite’ came out, he was amongst the first ones to excel in it. He holds the Fortnite record for most solo eliminations.

Meanwhile he launched his You Tube channel in May 2014 to post his gameplay videos. However, this was not his first appearance on You Tube. He had already been a part of his brother Jack Tenny’s Channel ‘JOOGSQUAD PPJT’ and was frequently featured in Jack’s videos doing skimboarding, surfing, skateboarding and trampoline stunts.

In April 2018, he signed up with the popular esports organisation FaZe clan and saw a tremendous growth in his subscribers/followers count on You Tube and Twitch. However, a year later in May, he quit FaZe. Post that, he continued producing and streaming various video games like Minecraft, Among Us, ‘Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Fall Guys’. He has also continued posting content – vlogs, commentary and how-to videos – on his You Tube channel.

Controversies

In May 2018, TFUE was banned from Twitch for some time after allegedly using a racial slur on one of his streams. In July, he was banned from Twitch for 14 days for unknown reasons.

In July 2018, his Epic Games account was permanently banned after he was allegedly found to be involved in the illegal selling of Epic Games accounts.

In May 2019, he sued FaZe Clan claiming that latter pressured him to stay at their LA home and do illegal gambling, underage drinking and dangerous stunts. He also said that he only received one-fifth from sponsored Twitch and You Tube videos and half from his tours and appearances earnings. FaZe refuted the claims and additionally stated that TFUE was offered 100% of earnings through an improved contract; however, it was turned down by the gamer. Later FaZe sued TFUE for violating the contract and leaking confidential information to media.

Family Life

TFUE has two brothers – Jack and Pierce and a sister named Alexandra. He went to middle school briefly and thereafter has been homeschooled.
