Matthew Beem aka Mbeem10 is an American YouTuber who became known for his vlogs and challenges on YouTube. He initially gained a boost for his relationship with popular YouTuber Hannah Tolentino aka purplebanana25, but later earned popularity for his car-themed videos with YouTubers like MrBeast and Logan Paul. He also re-created the doll for MrBeast's own version of Squid Game.
Early Life
Matthew Beem had been watching YouTube videos of Minecraft and Call of Duty since he was 10 and dreamed of becoming a fulltime YouTuber like Casey Niestat and Logan Paul. He didn’t want to go to college after graduating from school and took up a $9-per-hour car mechanic job at 18 to fund his YouTube journey. About four years later, he became the head painter at the car shop and decided to go all in on YouTube with his earnings. He continued to work there during the day and filmed YouTube videos at night, but eventually left the job in January 2022 after his channel became popular.
Career
Matthew Beem initially started making Call of Duty clips back in 2010 in one of his now-defunct channels, but took three years to gain 100 subscribers. He joined his current YouTube channel in January 2018 and started uploading videos in February 2019. He initially made videos about his Hypebeast sneaker collection, inspired by his love for basketball, and occasionally made challenge videos with friends. He gradually pivoted towards lifestyle content, such as extreme eating challenges, travel vlogs, and prank videos, by late 2019.
He made several videos about popular YouTuber Jimmy “MrBeast” Donaldson throughout 2020. After years of saving, he made his first big purchase, a “super beat up” $13,000 car, not for his own use, but to restore and re-paint in order to gift to his role model, MrBeast. He loaned $20,000 to cover the car with the logo of MrBeast’s new burger shop. While he didn’t know MrBeast personally, he drove 26 hours from Colorado to MrBeast’s headquarters in North Carolina to hand over the car, which was captured in the video I Surprised MrBeast With A Custom Car! in July 2021. Although the video failed to reach his expectations, he spent another $50,000 to customize a car for Logan Paul. He eventually started to gain subscribers in late 2021 and amassed 1.2 million within six months.
Family Life
Matthew Allen Beem has a sister whom he has featured in many videos. He started dating Filipino origin YouTuber Hannah Tolentino in December 2018. She began appearing in his videos from the first one and he gained an initial boost from her fan base. However, they broke up in January 2021, which she revealed through the vlog we broke up in June 2021. Although she wanted to film it alongside Matthew so that he could tell his side, they were not even on talking terms at the time. While she was very mad initially, she blamed it on them staying apart and growing apart during the Covid-19 lockdown.
