Connor Yates is an American social media star who is best known for being a part of the TikTok collective Hype House. Along with several other members of the house, he had featured on the Netflix reality television series Hype House (2022). Although he had amassed a large following on his Instagram profile @connoryates and his YouTube channel Paper Yates, neither is active anymore. He is active on TikTok with the handle @paperyates.

Career

Connor Yates earned fame on social media thanks to his TikTok profile @paperyates on which he shared mostly comedic skits. His popularity on the platform earned him a place in the popular TikTok collective, the Hype House. He had started his Instagram journey with the profile @connoryates in July 2019. His affiliation with the Hype House crew helped him amass a large number of fans on the platform. Interestingly, on his Instagram bio, he once described himself as the stuntman for the Hype House. Although he had his YouTube channel, Paper Yates, since January 2018, he did not upload anything on the channel until November 2019, when he posted Trying Taco Bell For First Time!! featuring several members of the Hype House.

In March 2020, he was among the social media stars, including Daisy Keech, Patrick Huston, Calvin Golby, and Wyatt Xavier, who were unfollowed by The Hype House‘s joint Instagram page in the wake of Keech’s battle with the group’s co-founder and manager Thomas Petrou for being recognized as one of the co-founders.

In 2022, he featured on the Netflix reality television series Hype House along with other members of the house. However, shortly after the filming ended, he was among six members with Alex Warren, Kouvr Annon, Michael Sanzone, Calvin Goldby and Patrick Huston, who moved out of the house, although many continued to be very much a part of many initiatives of the group.

Family Life

Connor Yates was in a relationship with fellow social media star Emily “Emmy” Van Liew. The two started dating in late 2020 and the relationship was highly publicized by both of them. Apart from making videos together for TikTok and YouTube, and featuring in each other’s Instagram pictures, they were also interviewed together by The Daily Stardust in February and March 2021.

Emmy told the outlet that the two first met on her friend’s Instagram Live when she went live with her. She also gushed about how they had similar personalities and how she liked everything about him. She further stated that she always had a great time with him, who was “like a teddy bear to me”. Although he mentioned at the time that he would propose to her in a couple years because they needed to finish college first, he arranged for a surprise Valentine's Day extravaganza for Emily, which was captured in a video titled HYPE HOUSE ENGAGEMENT in February 2021. They uploaded a video together for the last time on June 30, 2021 and broke up sometime later for unknown reasons.
