Also known as CBum, Chris Bumstead is a Canadian professional bodybuilder and a social media sensation. A four-time winner of ‘Mr. Olympia Classic Physique,’ he secured the title in 2019, 2020, 2021, and 2022, making him the reigning champion of the tournament. He is also a raging sensation on social media with a following as massive as his muscles on Instagram, Youtube, and Twitter.

Early Life

Bumstead was on the athletic side right from his school days. He indulged in multiple sports which included baseball, basketball, hockey, football, and even fencing, to name a few. Honestly, if not a bodybuilder, this guy would have made wonders in the world of sports. He started lifting metal at the age of 14 when he was still in high school. He later started to train under Iain Valliere who remained his coach until 2022.

Career

Bumstead made his debut in professional bodybuilding in a regional competition in Ontario. He participated along with his sister and both siblings came out as winners. In 2016, he won the IFBB North American Bodybuilding Championship which earned him his IFBB pro card. The following year, he made his debut at Mr. Olympia (Classic Physique) and secured the runner-up position. 2018 was not a favorable one for Bumstead as he spent a month in hospital due to a serious illness. This affected his training and his form suffered. However, he beat the odds stacked against him and again came out as runner-up in Mr. Olympia.

In 2019, he finally won the title of ‘Mr. Olympia Classic Physique.’ He continued to win the title for the next three years (2020, 2021, and 2022) and became the reigning champion we know and admire today.

The famous bodybuilder has also made it big on social media. He has a Youtube channel where he hosts bodybuilding and workout-related videos for over 3.2 million subscribers. Furthermore, he has over 18.1 million followers on Instagram and around 360k followers on Twitter.

Personal Life

Chris Bumstead has a sister named Melissa who is dating his former coach, Iain Valliere. He attended Dalhousie University. He is currently in a relationship with fitness model Courtney Alexis King. He has also dated another fitness model named Sabrina Twyman.
