Anne Curtis is a Filipino-Australian actress, model, television host, entrepreneur and recording artist who has been dubbed as the "Multimedia Superstar". She has worked on several hit movies like Baler, No Other Woman, Sid & Aya: Not a Love Story, BuyBust and The Mall, The Merrier. She hosted It's Showtime for a long time and appeared in television shows like Hiram, Kampanerang Kuba, Maging Sino Ka Man, Dyosa, and Kailangan Ko’y Ikaw. She is also the Philippines' top Instagram personality.

Early Life

Anne Curtis was only 12 years old when, during a vacation to the Philippines, she was approached at a fast-food restaurant by a talent scout to enter a children's beauty pageant. While her father was initially reluctant, her mother supported her and took her to different agencies without her father’s knowledge. Her family eventually relocated to the Philippines permanently, following which she properly learned the Filipino language.

Career

Anne Curtis signed with Viva Films and made her acting debut in Magic Kingdom: Ang Alamat ng Damortis in 1997. She subsequently signed with GMA Network and made her television debut in the drama series, Ikaw na Sana (1997). In the following years, she appeared in numerous films from Viva Films and several television shows from GMA Network. However, in 2004, she moved from GMA Network to ABS-CBN, describing the move as “majorly life changing”. Her first project with the network was the drama series Hiram (2004).

She received critical acclaim for her performance as Celine Magsaysay in the drama series Maging Sino Ka Man (2006). She became a video jockey for MTV Philippines in 2007. In 2008, she received praise for her roles in the romantic dramas When Love Begins and Baler. The same year, she was top-billed for playing four characters in the fantasy series Dyosa, and was dubbed as the "Dyosa" (goddess) of Philippine show business. She earned more critical acclaim and awards for her roles in films like No Other Woman (2011), Sid & Aya: Not a Love Story (2018) and BuyBust (2018).

She received multiple Best Female TV Host awards for hosting It's Showtime. She released her debut album Annebisyosa in 2011, followed by The Forbidden Album (2014) and Forever Young (2016). Also a philanthropist, she became a celebrity advocate for UNICEF Philippines in 2015. The next year, she collaborated with them to release her first children’s book, Anita, The Duckling Diva. She launched her makeup line, BLK Cosmetics, in 2017.

Family Life

Anne Ojales Curtis-Smith was born to Filipino mother Carmencita Ojales and Australian lawyer father James Ernest Curtis-Smith. She has a younger sister named Jasmine, who is also an actress. She also has a younger brother named Thomas and had a half-sister named Clare who died as an infant.

She has been in a longtime relationship with restaurateur and food blogger Erwan Heussaff. They got engaged in December 2016 and married on November 12, 2017. She welcomed daughter Dahlia Amélie, named after her character in her debut film, on March 2, 2020.
