Yoni Wicker is an American social media star who rose to fame alongside her twin sister Solai Wicker for their lip-sync and dance videos on Instagram, Dubsmash and TikTok. They also share the joint YouTube channel TheWickerTwinz, through which they released songs like Oh Yeah, Main Event, Rite Now and How'd You Do It. In 2019, they were sponsored by Mofajang to promote their range of temporary hair-color wax.

Early Life

Yoni Wicker and her sister Solai attended a public school previously, but after gaining popularity on social media, they switched to homeschooling as it was becoming difficult to balance school and social media. In January 2019, they mentioned being homeschooled for the past one year and a half. They further mentioned that they have been dancing since childhood and worked as models before gaining fame on social media.

Career

Yoni Wicker initially had a joint Instagram profile with her sister called the Wicker Twins, created in July 2016. But after Solai created her personal profile in October that year, Yoni followed her to create her personal profile in March 2017. Nevertheless, the two often made twin-themed content together, which were also more popular among their fans. She and her sister gained popularity together especially after they started posting videos on the Dubsmash app. Their first viral video was when they recreated the “I Got Hair” video around late 2017 or early 2018.

Alongside Instagram and Dubsmash, they were also posting their dance videos and funny content on TikTok back when it was still called musical.ly. They also had a joint YouTube channel, TheWickerTwinz, since March 2011, but became active on the platform in May 2018, when they were already quite popular on social media. They have continued to post pranks, challenges, Q&A’s, DIYs, and fun videos, and while they don’t usually post dance videos there, they could still be spotted spontaneously breaking into dance moves in the middle of other videos. Through their YouTube channel, they have released official music videos for their songs like Oh Yeah, Main Event, Rite Now and How'd You Do It.

Family Life

Yoni Wicker is younger than her twin sister Solai by about two hours. Her alias “Yoni” is derived from her first name Julianika. She also has two older brothers and an older sister, all of whom are much older than the twins. Despite fan speculations that they might be mixed, they have confirmed that both their parents are Black, and so are their grandparents. Their father’s name is Terrell.

The two identical twins can be identified easily due to the different shapes of their head; Solai's face is longer than Yoni’s, and the latter is also taller, although they are both quite short because both their parents are too. Yoni is left-handed while Solai is right-handed. Both she and Solai suffered from scoliosis, a sideways curve of the spine, although her condition was not as bad as Solai’s who had to go through a major surgery in March 2018.
