KreekCraft is the online alias of American YouTuber Forrest Waldron, who is best recognized for his main channel KreekCraft, but also has a number of secondary channels including the meme channel Kreeky, the highlights channel KreekCraft Shorts, and the reaction channel KreekCraft Reacts. He started out making Minecraft videos on his channel, but later shifted to other games like Roblox and Fortnite. He has also found success as a livestreamer.
Early Life
As KreekCraft could not participate in physical sports due to eye problems, he spent a lot of time playing video games, particularly the Legend of Zelda games on a GameCube. In fifth grade, he did various odd jobs like mowing lawns and washing cars to earn enough money to buy an Xbox, which opened up more games like Halo 3 and Call of Duty 4. After missing the better half of his seventh grade due to another eye surgery, he enrolled into an online school, from where he graduated with 3.96 GPA. He mentioned going to college to learn programming in 2020.
Career
After completing every computer class in school, KreekCraft got into video editing on YouTube and eventually started uploading “poor quality” Minecraft videos on the platform, which his mother thought were boring. About a year later, he decided to take YouTube seriously and created his gaming YouTube channel on April 9, 2014 to make videos about Minecraft mods. It was very successful, especially after one of his videos went viral at the end of 2015 and earned him a YouTube partner manager, who suggested that he tried livestreaming on the YouTube Gaming platform. He was initially reluctant of going live due to his insecurities, but achieved more success once he followed the advice as people found his content entertaining. He also shifted from Minecraft to Roblox in the latter part of the decade due to fan demand and livestreamed five hours each day during the Roblox Ready Player One Event, which made him very popular. He subsequently won the Roblox Battles crown in 2019.
Family Life
KreekCraft was born with a cataract in his left eye and had to go through an eye surgery when he was just a few days old. His parents divorced when he was a few years old because of his father’s drinking problem, which even got him arrested. KreekCraft was raised by his mother with support from his grandparents and doesn’t currently know where his father is. Although he didn’t have any brothers or sisters, he grew up in a large family with about 15 cousins, all of whom were girls. Growing up, he spent a lot of time with his cousins as his grandmother babysat them. He was a good student at school, but had to go through another emergency surgery after the retina in his left eye detached. He is still legally blind in his left eye and can only see blurry images.
He met his girlfriend, Kayla, while playing Roblox and they got engaged in September 2018.
