Career

Devin Caherly had been influenced by social media personalities like Jake Paul making it big in Hollywood and always wanted to become a social media star himself. He made his first YouTube video when he was in the seventh grade, although the video is no longer available. He later formally started his social media journey by joining TikTok in the summer of 2019 because he realized that it was going to be “the next big thing”. He gained popularity in May 2020 for his video about a wedding meme that went viral. He continued to film TikTok videos from his college dorm room after joining college and is particularly fond of a challenge video he did with his roommate which involved getting smacked in the head for wrong answers. He often collaborated with fellow TikTok star Tatayanna Mitchell, whom he finally met in person in July 2020. In December that year, he generated over a million views on a video where he stated the name Charli D'Amelio 100,000 times.

While he joined YouTube back in August 2014, his first upload on the channel was Speaking a Made Up Language Prank in September 2019. He also made videos with Tatayanna, affectionately calling her “Tati”, which prompted some fans to ship them as “Tevin”. He later started making challenge videos, but has not been very active on the platform. However, he has a separate channel called Devin Caherly Shorts where he has gained millions of fans by re-uploading his TikTok videos. Also a gamer, he used to compete in serious Call of Duty tournaments in middle school, which even earned him money on the side. He later utilized this entrepreneurial mindset to launch the media company Business Blurb with his friends Brendan Cox and Faiz Imran. Through the company, he sells merchandise including tank tops, T-shirts, hoodies, face masks, phone cases, and hats.
