Danish Zehen was an Indian hairstylist, rapper, model and YouTuber who started his career sharing hairstyling videos on social media and later found success for his vlogs and DIY content. He also performed at various events as a rapper and hip-hop dancer. He later came to limelight for his participation on MTV’s Ace of Space in 2018. He passed away following a car accident the same year.
Early Life
Danish Zehen completed his schooling from Kedarnath Vidya Prasarini's English High School in Kurla, East Mumbai. He later studied at the University of Mumbai.
Career
Danish Zehen had originally started his career with hairstyling and initially used to post content on Facebook. He gradually moved to other platforms like Instagram and Snapchat and also gained some popularity due to his raps. However, he wanted to grow bigger and soon shifted focus towards YouTube. He joined YouTube back in 2012 with a channel called Danish Zehen DMG, but later created a second channel called Danish Zehen Lifestyle and started making DIY tutorials, vlogs and other types of content with the iPhone his brother had gifted him. The videos were popular and helped his channel grow gradually, but his channel was taken down by YouTube without any warning after someone reported it, which he mentioned in the video WHAT HAPPENED TO MY YOUTUBE CHANNEL ? on his current channel in May 2018.
He was interested in fitness, which led him to modeling for various prominent designers and gain experience in the fashion industry, following which he created a new channel in October 2014. On the new channel, which is his current channel, he started sharing hairstyle videos in May 2017. He also made vlogs, DIY videos, raps, videos about cars and bikes. He also had a separate YouTube channel focused on fitness videos. He gained further popularity after participating in the first season of the MTV reality show Ace of Space in 2018.
Family Life
Danish Zehen was raised alongside a brother named Gufran, who worked as an accountant in Saudi Arabia. In a video titled Life Journey | Its all about me, he had mentioned going through difficult times when his family stood by him. He even spent some time out of India, with his brother, during that period.
On December 20, 2018, while returning home from a wedding with his cousin brother Shehzad Sayyed, he had a fatal accident on the Sion Panvel highway around 12.30 a.m. The car, moving at a high speed, lost control after hitting a rock on the road, causing it to topple and crash into an electric pole. His cousin, who suffered minor injuries, took Danish to the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation Hospital with the help of some eyewitnesses, but he was declared dead before admission. Thousands of fans had gathered to his funeral to pay their last respects. His channel, which increased in followership even after his death, is now maintained by his brother Gufran Zehen, who often shares unseen footage from Danish’s adventures.
